Nevada: 7 Arrested at Air Force Base Protesting U.S. Drone Attacks

HeadlineApr 27, 2017

In the United States, in Nevada, police arrested seven people Wednesday at a nonviolent protest against U.S. drone warfare at the gates of the Creech Air Force Base northwest of Las Vegas. The base is home to drone operators who pilot deadly Reaper and Predator drones in missions throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan. The protesters temporarily shut down a stretch of Highway 95 near the base, holding banners honoring the victims of U.S. drone attacks. Ahead of the protests, Veterans for Peace launched a series of commercials in Las Vegas urging drone operators to abandon their missions.

TV commercial: “U.S. drones have murdered thousands, including women and children. Drone pilots: Please refuse to fly.”
