Coronavirus Cases Mount in India, Iran and Australia

Coronavirus cases are continuing to increase across the Global South. In India, the number of COVID-19 cases has topped 500,000, and the peak of the pandemic is projected to be weeks away. Health officials warn the total number of cases could top 1 million by the end of the month.

Iran has ordered residents to wear masks at indoor gathering places. On Saturday, Iran reported 127 deaths, its highest daily death toll in three months.
Meanwhile, Australia is reporting its biggest jump in COVID-19 cases in two months.
