NYC Schools Delay In-Person Classes Amid Staffing Shortages and Coronavirus Fears

The official U.S. death toll from COVID-19 is rapidly approaching 200,000, with more than 6.6 million confirmed coronavirus cases. On Thursday, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio delayed the start of in-person classes for K-12 students until at least the end of September amidst a major staffing shortage in schools and teacher protests about coronavirus safety measures.
