Qatar Reestablishes Ties with Saudi Arabia and Other Arab Nations, Ending 3-Year Embargo

Qatar has reestablished diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, three years after the four countries imposed an embargo against Qatar and accused it of becoming too close to Iran. The agreement to restore ties was signed Tuesday at the Gulf Cooperation Council annual summit in Saudi Arabia.
