Zelensky Visits Frontline Troops; Biden Administration Announces New Arms for Ukraine

HeadlineJun 27, 2023

In Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited soldiers battling Russia’s invasion on the eastern front and used his nightly address to praise Ukrainian troops for advancing “in all directions.”

In Washington, the Biden administration is announcing a new military aid package for Ukraine today worth up to half-a-billion dollars. This comes after the Pentagon last week said an “accounting error” had freed up an additional $3.2 billion worth of funding for weapons and ammunition for Ukraine. This builds on another $3 billion in additional arms shipments the Pentagon announced in May, citing accounting mistakes.
