A community organizer and resistance movement activist in Honduras. He has been subjected to repeated harassment and torture at the hands of police. Espinal’s partner, Wendy Díaz, was killed of tear gas inhalation outside the Brazilian embassy in the violent ouster of resistance member following the return of Manuel Zelaya to the country in 2009.
