Many people learn about sexual and reproductive health and rights through entertainment media—that’s why authentic storytelling in film and television is more important than ever.

This panel will bring together content creators and activists to share how they use the power of entertainment to open hearts and minds and create change. Moderated by Amy Goodman, host and executive producer of Democracy Now!, the panel features Rayka Zehtabchi, Academy Award–winning director of Period. End of Sentence.; Renee Bracey Sherman, founder of We Testify; Eliza Hittman, writer and director of Never Rarely Sometimes Always; Janet Goldwater, writer and co-director of Abortion Helpline, This Is Lisa; and Caren Spruch, senior director of arts and entertainment engagement at Planned Parenthood. The panel will also include a screening of a new short film directed by Zehtabchi and produced by Planned Parenthood, We Testify, and Ventureland Productions.
