Social Dems Lose Swedish Elections After 12-Year Run

In Sweden, voters have swept the governing Social Democrat party out of office for the first time in twelve years. The winning candidate, Fredrik Reinfeldt of the Moderate Party, has promised changes to Sweden’s welfare system. The Social Democrats have dominated Swedish politics for most of the last seventy five years.
