Brazil on Pace to Surpass U.S. Coronavirus Death Toll in July, Researchers Warn

Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Latin America. Brazil continues to record over 30,000 new cases daily, with the official death toll now at over 46,000 — though researchers say that’s a significant underestimate. A new study by the University of Washington School of Medicine predicts Brazil will surpass the United States in July to become the nation with the world’s highest death toll from COVID-19.
