Congressional Talks on New Coronavirus Stimulus on Brink of Collapse

On Capitol Hill, talks between House Democrats and Republican leaders on a new coronavirus stimulus bill are on the brink of collapse, more than a week after enhanced unemployment benefits and a federal moratorium on evictions expired. Meanwhile, Saturday marks the deadline for businesses to apply to the $650 billion Paycheck Protection Program of guaranteed federal loans.
