Author Sues to Overturn New York Prison Officials’ Ban on Book About Attica

In other book news, the historian Heather Ann Thompson is suing New York state prison authorities for banning her book about the deadly 1971 Attica prison rebellion. Thompson’s book, “Blood in the Water,” won the Pulitzer Prize in 2017. The book is now banned inside Attica and almost a dozen other New York state prisons.
