Oregon Pauses Lifting of Coronavirus Lockdown as Cases Hit New High

Here in the United States, the coronavirus death toll is approaching 114,000, but that is widely viewed to be a vast undercount. In Maryland, The Baltimore Sun reports hundreds of deaths have gone uncounted in nursing homes and other elder care facilities. Many states are reporting a new surge in cases following the reopening of businesses. In Oregon, officials have paused reopening the state’s economy as the number of daily infections hits a new high.
