The layoffs come just weeks after the Post’s billionaire owner Jeff Bezos blocked an endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the November election. By The Washington Post’s own count, Bezos’s decision prompted 250,000 readers to cancel their subscriptions in protest.
