Officials in the occupied West Bank say Israeli forces have arrested at least nine Palestinians following raids in Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah and Bethlehem. The arrests follow Monday’s killing of 14-year-old Palestinian boy Yousef Fuad Abdulkarim Foqahaa, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah. Israel’s military later said the boy had been throwing stones and bottles, something witnesses refuted.
This comes as the U.N.’s humanitarian affairs office reports Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian communities in the West Bank are at their highest rate in at least two decades, with an average of 44 Palestinians injured each month in attacks by settlers.
