Eric Garner

Democracy Now! reports on the case of Eric Garner, an African-American father of six who was killed after a white New York City police officer wrestled him to the ground, pinned him down and applied a fatal chokehold. The incident was captured on a cell phone video. The death spurred protests over NYPD’s use of excessive force and its policy of cracking down on low-level offenses.
