UNICEF: 10% of Bombs Unexploded

Meanwhile, aid and human rights groups have launched an appeal for an international effort to clear out unexploded bombs they say are putting thousands of Lebanese at risk.

  • UNICEF Communications Officer Suha Al-Busat: “Now perhaps the most immediate danger awaiting the returnees as Astrid has said are the large number of unexploded missiles and other ammunition that have been found across the country. It is estimated that 10% of these munitions did not explode and this creating a really major risk problem.”
