In Sacramento, California, lawmakers have begun a special legislative session to shield the state from potential federal interference by the incoming Trump administration. Democrats who hold the majority are seeking to “Trump-proof” laws, including those guaranteeing reproductive freedoms and protecting undocumented immigrants.
