Koch-Linked “Freedom Partners” Spent $236 Million in 2012 Campaign

HeadlineSep 12, 2013

A secretive organization that funneled millions of dollars to right-wing causes in the 2012 election has been revealed. Politico reports that a group called Freedom Partners, with deep ties to the billionaire Koch Brothers, funneled more than $236 million to right-wing campaigns, outspending even Karl Rove’s group, American Crossroads. The group has about 200 donors who pay at least $100,000 in annual fees. Its recipients include the Center to Protect Patient Rights, which received over $115 million for its efforts to combat Obamacare, and Americans for Prosperity, the right-wing advocacy group, which received some $32 million.
