Report: Russia Deploys Cruise Missile, Violating Arms Treaty

HeadlineFeb 16, 2017

Meanwhile, Russia’s military has deployed a secret nuclear-capable cruise missile that violates a landmark 1987 arms reduction treaty between the U.S. and Russia. That’s according to The New York Times, which reports the new weapon threatens to derail any future arms treaties with Russia, and has the Pentagon considering whether to develop medium-range cruise missiles of its own. Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy says it’s tracking a Russian intelligence vessel that’s come within 30 miles of the coast of Connecticut. The ship appears to be spying on a U.S. submarine base.
