Mexican Authorities Disarm Acapulco Police over Drug Cartel Ties

In southern Mexico, federal and state police have disarmed the entire police force of the resort city of Acapulco, issuing arrest warrants for a pair of police commanders accused of carrying out killings on behalf of drug cartels. Soldiers, marines and state police will take over security in the city of 800,000 people. Last year Acapulco had one of the highest murder rates in the world.
